Qatar Airways is continuing its aggressive expansion program, announced earlier this week plans to increase the frequency of its flights to key European capital cities.
The carrier will add capacity to its Madrid, Athens and Stockholm and Paris services by an increase of up to nearly 40 percent in frequency across the four cities.
Whilst the DohaParis route will become a double daily operation, Madrid will increase from four weekly flights to a daily operation from 2 December this year.
The Athens route, currently being served daily, will have its capacity increased over a five-month period from October to double daily services starting March 2010.
From 25 October this year, Stockholm will receive one extra weekly service every Thursday.
Europe is one of our most important regions representing around 20 per cent of our global coverage said Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker
While many airlines are cutting back capacity in the current economic conditions, we strongly believe on building capacity to meet the needs of the travelling public, both in the short-term and long-term.
The carrier also said it would launch 6 new routes from October including Amritsar (October 11) and Goa (October 25) in India; Melbourne (December 6); Sydney and two other cities in Europe that are subject to approval.
