Boeing has this week announced that it has placed its second 787 Dreamliner on the flight line, showing off images of the aircraft in full ANA livery, while rumours arise of a first test flight date arise.

Boeing will need six aircraft for the flight test program, while the industry reports rumours that the Seattle-based engineers are eyeing the 30th of June for its first flight test– which will mean narrowly achieving its first test flight before Q2 end commitment.

In rolling out the second B787 onto the flight line, Boeing notes that “momentum continues to build”.

“ANA will be the first to fly the 787 Dreamliner in commercial service,” said Scott Fancher, VP and 787 Dreamliner Program GM.

“We are honoured to fly in ANA livery throughout the flight-test program as a tribute to our partnership in bringing this all-new airplane to market.”

Boeing’s second aircraft to move to the flight line, ZA002, will be sent to Japan’s ANA.
